A fun game to help learn which numbers are prime numbers.
This prime numbers game is designed to be a fun hands on activity to build fluency, proficiency and confidence amongst your students. These can be used in school, tuition lessons or at home.
Directions for use:
Print and cut the strips to play the game. Laminate to ensure the resource can be used for longer. Print on to card stock to prevent the ink being seen on the other side.
Also included is a cover for the game pack, and an answer sheet for players to refer to if needed.
How to play:
A game for 2 or more players. Add as many BOOM! sticks to the game as you like. Typically I would use 4 for a two player game.
Put the strips into a paper cup. Take it in turns to choose a strip and answer whether the number is a prime number or not. If you answer the question correctly, you get to keep the strip. If it is incorrect, the strip gets placed back in the cup. If you choose a BOOM! strip, all your strips get put back in the cup, including the BOOM! stick.
Alternative play- instead of putting all the strips back in the cup, the BOOM! stick can be used as a miss a turn instead. The winner is the person at the end of the game with the most sticks.
