Lesson focuses on playing the Marriage Game - full instructions are included. Only extras needed are dice and counters!

Though the activity has been designed as a game, it helps students focus on the meaning of the vows taken during a Christian wedding service and also outlines some of the various financial considerations that are taken when preparing for a wedding.

Resources include presentation, lesson objectives, starter and plenary, game board and worksheets plus homework. The preparation for the game takes about 20 minutes, playing the game about 20- 30 minutes, then follow-up work including discussion and structured essay. In total, at least 2 lessons worth of material.

I use this game as an introductory lesson to GCSE Religious Studies - Relationships and Christian weddings, but also suitable for Year 8/9 students.

Laminate the board and the cards and use over and over again!
