In this lesson, Spanish teachers will find two lessons, one to teach “Los instrumentos musicales” (musical instruments) and the second one, to teach the comparative form of the verb “preferir” (to prefer). This lesson follows the Claro 2 Unit 3 (3.4 Somos melómanos) book, but can easily be adapted and used with other textbooks such as VIVA, as the vocabulary and concepts are transferable. Overall, this lesson aims to develop students’ vocabulary and communication skills, while also fostering an appreciation for music and musical instruments.

Firstly, students will be introduced to a variety of musical instruments and their names in Spanish. This will involve listening, writing, dictation and reading activities.

The second objective of the lesson is to teach students how to express preferences using the comparative form of the verb “preferir”. They will learn how to compare two or more things using the structure “preferir…a…” (prefer…to…). Students will be provided with various scenarios and will be asked to express their preferences for different musical instruments. They have the opportunity to practice speaking and writing as the main tasks.
At the end, there are some cultural slides and some homework related to it.
There are 41 slides in total.
