This worksheet is to support teaching decimal fractions - the fractions linked to tenths, hundredths, thousandths, etc. It is to help students learn and understand the connection between fractions, place value, and decimals. This is the first part of converting a fraction to a decimal and a decimal to a fraction.

National Curriculum, Lower Key Stage 2, Years 3 & 4, Maths - Pupils connect tenths to place value, decimal measures and to division by 10 (Year 3). Count up and down in hundredths; recognise that hundredths arise when dividing an
object by one hundred and dividing tenths by ten (Year 4). Recognise and write decimal equivalents of any number of tenths or hundredths

National Curriculum, Upper Key Stage 2, Years 5 & 6, Maths - Read and write decimal numbers as fractions [for example, 0.71 = 71/100 ] (Year 5). Recognise and use thousandths and relate them to tenths, hundredths and decimal
equivalents (Year 5). Identify the value of each digit in numbers given to three decimal places (Year 6).
