The design process is a structured method for solving problems and creating solutions. Subjects that incorporate design process tasks can be the most interesting, practical and engaging classes that encourage students to think critically.

This folder contains SIX design briefs along with structured design process workbooks and marking criteria. Perfect for re-engaging students halfway through the term or left as casual research tasks when the regular class teacher is absent. All workbooks provide space for the practical application of the project, however, they can also be used for the theoretical component only by leaving out the prototype and final implementation evaluation.

Design briefs include:

  • Food Waste - A product that can recycle, reduce or reuse food waste to prevent it from ending up in landfill
  • Fruit Chip Salad - Packaging and label that encourages people to choose/eat the healthy fruit chip snack
  • Textiles Waste - A product that can reduce, recycle or upcycle textile waste to prevent it from ending up in landfill
  • Upcycled Textiles - Upcycle an item of clothing (or other textiles item) to prevent it from ending up in landfill
  • Children’s Safety - A product that can be used by parents around the home to help keep their child safe
  • Inclusive Children’s Daycare Play - A toy, game or play area that is inclusive and suitable for children with disabilities at a daycare style setting
