If you have purchased mt ‘Tide’ and then ‘KOTV’ resources, this unit concludes advertising and builds upon prior learning. This Quad looks at:

-Context a round athletes within the advert and addressing misconceptions about disability.
-Reminder of what constitutes Media Language.
-Codes (Symbolic. Written. Audio. Technical.)
-Conventions.
-Structured analysis of the ‘Super.Human’ advert.
-Sound e.g. diegetic/ non-diegetic etc.
-Pity porn/ Direct mode of address/ visceral imagery/ shock tactics.
-Analysis of key frames from the advert with structured support.
-Editing and pace.
-Narrative, plot, linear and non-linear narratives.
-4 narrative theorist application (Barthes, Todorov, Barthes and Propp).
-Task based on a adapted past exam question: Question 10 is based on the audio-visual resource: an advertisement produced by Apple in 2023. You will be allowed one minute to read Question 1. The advertisement will be shown three times.

First viewing: watch the advert.

Second viewing: watch the advert and make notes. You will then have five minutes to make further notes.

Third viewing: watch the music video extract and make final notes. Once the third viewing has finished, you should answer Question 1.
