Great Christmas song as it consolidates numbers and is a good introduction to ordinal numbers. Powerpoint 1 introduces the vocabulary. Powerpoint 2 accompanies Worksheets 1 and 2. The resources break down the vocabulary by working on numbers then nouns. You can teach each day individually with Powerpoint 1 before adding the full verses with Powerpoint 2. There is also a link to Youtube video to sing along to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yB8dzktiBm4 . There is a PDF file with the song in full as well as a wordsearch.
I divide the class into groups with each group ‘owning’ a day or several days depending on the size of the class. You can have a competition between odd numbers and even numbers. I have also in the past had the class find out which nouns are masculine and feminine then split the ‘gifts’ between girls and boys. It can also lead to craft and/or drama activities.
