Graphs exam practice for GCSE Maths Foundation: two parallel exam papers, a full mark scheme and a question level analysis (QLA) spreadsheet. Written for KS4 and post-16 resit learners working at grades 1–4, aiming for a 4.

Covers: Coordinates and Linear Graphs, Gradient, y = mx + c and Parallel Lines, Quadratic Graphs and Factorising Quadratics, Cubic and Reciprocal Graphs.

WHAT YOU GET (7 files)

  • Paper A – 24 exam-style questions, 59 marks, 70 minutes (Section A non-calculator, Section B calculator)
  • Paper B – a parallel version: the same skills for the same marks with different numbers, so you can re-test after feedback
  • Mark scheme for both papers – M1 / A1 / B1 marks and a full worked solution for every question
  • Skills map – shows which questions test which skill
  • QLA spreadsheet – type in the marks and it colours every question green / amber / red, works out class averages and shows each student’s score per skill on Paper A and Paper B
  • Editable Word versions plus print-ready PDFs

SKILLS COVERED

  • Coordinates
  • Recognising graph shapes
  • Parallel lines
  • Difference of two squares
  • Equation of a line
  • Midpoints
  • Factorising and solving quadratics
  • Drawing straight-line graphs
  • Roots and turning points
  • Plotting quadratic graphs
  • Gradient
  • Using a calculator
  • Plotting cubic and reciprocal graphs

HOW TO USE IT

  1. Teach the topic, then sit Paper A in exam conditions
  2. Mark it with the mark scheme and enter the marks into the QLA spreadsheet
  3. Use the skills summary to plan feedback and re-teaching
  4. Sit Paper B and see the progress, skill by skill

WHY TEACHERS USE IT

  • Squared working space on every question, like a real exam paper
  • All questions are original, exam-style and checked twice; suits any GCSE Foundation specification (AQA, Edexcel, OCR)
  • Mixed numbers, diagrams and graphs drawn clearly for lower-attaining learners

Part of my GCSE Maths Foundation series (Algebra › Graphs). The matching ready-to-teach lessons are in the Graphs topic bundle.
