A single lesson activity that begins with small groups researching the human rights laws that apply to them personally. The lesson then moves on to small groups discussing the key question of whether identity is based more on personal characteristics or group membership. Students then are given time to research using a YouTube clip to make study notes which are then used as a basis for a whole class discussion with key questions provided in the PowerPoint. Originally designed for use with an IB Global Politics class, it could be adapted for use with younger grades.
