This is a unit of 6 x double lessons (could easily be adapted for 12 single lessons) on the topic of extremism originally planned for year 7 but could be easily adapted for other year groups. It is based around the key question of what makes us happy, using Buddhism as a focus.

Lesson 1: Can money buy happiness?
Lesson 2: The life of the Buddha
Lesson 3: Is the middle way the secret to happiness?
Lesson 4: The Noble Truths
Lesson 5: Does religion make you happy?
Lesson 6: Meditation and Mindfulness

There is an accompanying student booklet which includes all student resources.

Also included is an assessment and mark scheme.

These lessons have been planned by an RE specialist for delivery by non-specialists and as such are easy to work through and contain additional notes (see notes section of PPT) for non-specialists as required.
