Lesson resources to teach Health and Safety in the Design Technology workshop, including signage, PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), Risk Assessment and hazard identification.

The pages provided cover common D&T signs and the recognized colour classification for them. It also covers the correct use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and asks students to identify hazards or risks in a picture of a workshop. It also gives students blank Risk Assessment sheets to fill in for a Pillar Drill, Coping Saw and Belt Sander.

All pictures are hand drawn and in black and white to make printing easier and more cost effective. This resource could be used as a stand alone lesson (achievable in approx 1hr 45mins with Yr7) or as part of my “Literary Themed KS3 Design and Technology” suite of lessons.
