KS4 Homework Booklets

Two homework booklets for Ks4, each with a variety of activities on extracts from the following texts: The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, The Outsider, Frankenstein, The Count of Monte Cristo, Charles Dickens Letter Regarding The Poor, Siegfried Sassoon’s Open Letter published in The Times newspaper 31 July 1917, 2003 speech by Tony Blair on Iraq and an extract from American Notes in which Dickens toured the Eastern State Penitentiary.

The booklets include: 2 Fiction and 2 non fiction texts, a creative writing task for fiction and non fiction, a variety of activities that are linked to key skills for AQA Paper 1 and 2, including questions on language, structure, evaluation, inference, writer’s perspective, question 1 questions from AQA Language Paper 1&2, and more. Space for pupils to answer the questions is also included. The creative writing tasks have pages of planning activities to help pupils before they write a response, plus page and a half writing space for each task.

Year 10: A 47 page homework booklet for year 10, with a 2 fiction texts (The Legend of Sleepy Hollow by Washington Irving and The Outsider by H. P. Lovecraft), 2 non fiction texts (Charles Dickens Letter Regarding The Poor and Siegfried Sassoon’s Open Letter published in The Times newspaper 31 July 1917), and 2 creative writing tasks - 1 for fiction (description) and non fiction (an article).

Year 11: A 51 page homework booklet for year 11, with a 2 fiction texts (Frankenstein by Mary Shelley and The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas), 2 non fiction texts (2003 speech by Tony Blair on Iraq and an extract from American Notes in which Dickens toured the Eastern State Penitentiary), and 2 creative writing tasks - 1 for fiction (description) and non fiction (an article).
