28 art homework activities with accompanying teachers’ notes in a 61-page PDF, for KS3 students of middle to high ability.

Each task is designed for a single homework session and can build on projects, practice and research carried out at school. Topics span illustration, surrealism, typography and symbols, collage, observational drawing, cubism, graphics, textile design, pattern, mark-making, colour, perspective and shading.

Students work with simple materials such as a sketchbook, pencils, colouring pencils and felt-tipped pens. Activities are open-ended so teachers can connect them to ongoing art projects. The student sheets give a brief introduction, instructions and a further activity; illustrations show the kind of effect students can explore.

Teachers’ notes explain aims and suggest how to introduce the homework, artists to consider and extension or follow-up work. General guidance is included. This listing supplies the original publication, without a claim of alignment to current curriculum requirements.
