Strong modelling is one of the most powerful things a teacher does, yet the most important part is often invisible. Experts make quick decisions, notice what matters and correct themselves without saying any of it aloud. This session shows staff how to slow that thinking down, narrate it clearly and hand it over so that pupils can do the thinking for themselves.

Teachers work through a clear, practical sequence: model the process, explain the thinking behind it, guide a shared attempt, support an independent attempt and then fade that support. They look closely at the difference between showing a finished product and showing the process behind it, at how to think aloud without overloading pupils, and at how to model mistakes and
self-correction.
Examples span EYFS, KS1 and KS2, so the session works for a whole-school staff
meeting or a phase team.
