Students explain what the word distribution means using Think, Pair, Share. Students write down key idea of what the map shows.
Students are given 2 maps showing the location of earthquakes and volcanoes. They need to trace the location of the volcanoes and earthquakes using the two pieces of tracing paper and then glue the tracing paper over the top of there maps. Extension: Describe the distribution of earthquakes and volcanoes. Use examples to support your answer.
Students read through the information and colour code it into the correct category.
Students are given a model answers to the exam question: Explain why the majority of earthquakes and volcanoes occur at plate margins (4) Students are to mark this exam question out of 4 using the mark scheme. Students are then going to answer the question using the model and mark scheme to help them.
On an exit ticket, students write down one specific point they have learnt in this lesson and hand it to the teacher as they leave the room.
