These are a collection of short oral histories. It is not intended to be an entire lesson but to supplement other units of work and engage students in real life experiences. Each document is an accessible transcript of an interview on a specific topic.

Each interviewee was born in Sydney (NSW) between 1914 and 1930s. They reflect on the experiences of their home life and education before they turned 21. It was a great pleasure to interview these people and learn about their experiences.

Some suggested learning activities have been provided and would be most suited to units of work from history, sociology and cultural studies.
