Photo Description Revision Game

As the photo description is a large part of both Speaking and Writing in the GCSE I have prepared a game for students to help with revision.
There are two versions: one if you have access to a colour printer, and one if you don’t and they don’t show up clearly in black and white.

Work through the board from 1 to 30.
Move as follows:
1 space for a word in Target language or a very basic sentence (e.g. in the photo there is…)
2 spaces for a sentence describing the image.
3 spaces for an extended sentence, an opinion, or a different tense.

Variations:
If you have more able students, they could act as a judge for the other players and decide whether it’s good enough to move on or not.

You may want to allow a small help for Foundation candidates and from memory only for Higher candidates.

You could add a rule that they cannot repeat what someone else has said. Or allow them to work in pairs to support each other.

I’d also suggest a time limit on giving a word/phrase/etc. (10-30 second timer?) Otherwise they could be playing forever!
