This Scheme of Work has been created to meet the teaching requirements of the new NSW Geography 7-10 Syllabus (2024), which is being implemented from 2027.

The unit covers the Stage 4 focus area Place and Liveability and is designed around the knowledge, geographical concepts, inquiry skills, tools and outcomes required by the new specification.

This SoW is detailed, differentiated and engaging, allowing teachers to move students through the content efficiently while developing geographical knowledge, fieldwork, data interpretation and extended writing. Lessons use a consistent I Do, We Do, You Do structure and include retrieval practice, explicit instruction, structured discussion and independent application.
