Practical PE assessment criteria grades 1-4

This practical PE assessment model, adapted from the AQA GCSE PE practical descriptors, incorporates the GCSE practical grading criteria, enabling students to progress towards their GCSE grade throughout core PE. Students will be evaluated in two key areas: skills and full context. The grading system ranges from level 1 to level 4, which remains consistent across all sports.

Level 1: Mastery of nearly all curriculum components, demonstrating a robust grasp of the expected skills.
Level 2: Proficiency in most curriculum areas, exhibiting a sound understanding of the expected knowledge and skills, though some gaps may be present.
Level 3: Competence in certain aspects of the curriculum, showcasing an adequate understanding of the knowledge and skills expected, albeit with several gaps.
Level 4: Failure to fully grasp the curriculum, characterized by significant deficiencies in the expected skills and knowledge.
