AQA A-Level Religious Studies: Process Theology
A fully resourced and engaging AQA A-Level Religious Studies lesson on Process Theology, designed to introduce students to one of the most significant modern challenges to the traditional concept of God.
Students explore the Process understanding of God as neither omnipotent nor creator ex nihilo, before examining David Ray Griffin’s rejection of creation from nothing and divine omnipotence. The lesson culminates in an evaluation of whether a limited God is more believable than the traditional theistic God.
A hands-on Play-Doh/Lego modelling activity allows students to experience the distinction between persuasive and coercive power, helping them grasp key Process concepts in a memorable and interactive way. Students then apply their understanding through discussion, comparison tasks, and AO2 evaluation activities.
