Bring Halloween and autumn into your EYFS maths with this visual, colourful, interactive PowerPoint. Children visit a magic pumpkin patch to count objects to 10, touching one pumpkin for each number, then explore one more and one less through story and song. Two hands-on activities, pumpkin patch play and make a counting pumpkin, get little hands busy with counters, play dough and craft. The slides use very few words and big ideas, with lots of talk, sing, move and make prompts for the adult leading. A “where this leads next” slide shows how counting builds towards Year 1 number work. No-prep and ready-to-teach, it fits neatly into a seasonal week and works well as a calm cover lesson. 12 slides in a consistent teal design with Laura’s friendly avatar. Written to be read aloud, with British spelling, and linked to the EYFS Mathematics area of learning. Every content slide carries a short speech-bubble prompt from Laura, so a busy or non-specialist teacher can pick it up, read it aloud and teach with confidence. Download once and use it year after year.
