This is a full lesson that is intended for use as part of a lesson unit focusing on religious attitudes to wealth, humanitarianism, and social justice. The lesson has a particular focus on The Salvation Army as a case study, with a task offering an opportunity for pupils to explore another major Christian charity.

The lesson is aimed at Year 8 pupils, but can easily be adapted for other year groups.

The lesson also brings up the issue of evangelism and proselytism, which is a major critique of the work of these types of charities.
