This 46-slide PowerPoint has been crafted with care to introduce students to C.S. Lewis’ masterpiece, The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe. It is designed to cover the following:

About the Book
Main Characters
Major Events
Theological Symbolism & Reflections (major focus of this presentation)
This Powerpoint goes into great detail to help students make connections between what occurs in this book and the Christian faith. Theological topics such as the relation between the Law (the Deep Magic) and the Gospel, substitutionary atonement (Aslan’s death and the Deeper Magic), Satan (White Witch, who was Queen Jadis in The Magician’s Nephew), Christ (Aslan), The Emperor of the Sea (God the Father in the Triune Godhead), the temple veil that was torn upon Christ’s death and what this meant (the splitting of the stone table), and several other topics are addressed in detail in relation to this charming and rich narrative. The point is to help students make connections that Lewis probably had in mind. Bible verses are also used where necessary to make a connection.

The overall aesthetic is professional, engaging, consists of just the right amount of text (neither too much nor too little), and contains a logical flow of ideas that I consider optimal for teaching.

A worksheet has also been created that corresponds with this PowerPoint.
