A series of lessons (2-3) in which pupils must translate shape, and also describe translations using column vectors. The lesson allows the pupils to master the skill on basic grids and then deals with translation of an axis and also performing a series of translations on a shape. There are plenty of opportunities to problem solve and reasoning questions which are in line with the new curriculum so the lesson explores many new style translation questions. There are also worded problems in which pupils may need to draw a diagram to help them.
All tasks are fully differentiated and all have full solutions so that it is easy to self mark. This has been used to KS3 and KS4 and offers a lot of challenge to all ability learners.
