This lesson is a complete session on block printing. Using Polyblock, a polystyrene tile, to create a unique piece of printed work. It introduces the work of Jean Philippe Arthur Dubuffet (31 July 1901 – 12 May 1985) French painter and sculptor who used block printing to create his work. It askes the learners to discuss and evaluate his work using a set of questions. Using this as a starting point for block printing the learners are then asked to look at Welsh Celtic art, create their own, and create a block print of their work.

With very few resources this lesson is simple to do and gives learners an introduction to block printing. The resources required are minimal, only needing a polystyrene tile, pen, print roller and ink. With these the learners can create a unique piece of block printed art work.
