YEAR 13: SECTION B, AUDIENCE IN ADVERTISING 'TIDE' AND 'WATERAID'

Advertising: Lesson 5-6= This DOUBLE concludes a self contained series of lessons that groups and condenses the forms/ individual units of both the Component 1 and 2 Exams. It is designed either for:

-Schools that teach AS/A2 and wish to recap existing AS knowledge whilst exposing students to the A2 theorists in Year 13.

-Or can be delivered as an A-Level Linear Resource. If this format does not best suit, please locate LInear resources in my shop that deliver the same content, only designed more for a two-year study of all of the texts.

This lesson will comprise of six lessons in total; this DOUBLE and a previous QUAD on Media Lang and Rep groups all of the advertising texts together; ‘TIDE’, ‘KISS OF THE VAMPIRE’ and ‘WATERAID’. This new structure SOW/series of lessons is designed to promote Mastery, Independent learning and Exam skills/practice. This resources includes all of the resources needed to do this and includes differentiated slides with an in-depth explanation of all the Media Lang and Rep theorists needed for the advertising texts as well as recap slides of AS so that students can remind themselves of what they learnt in Year 13:

-Starter: Mini-assessment on the three set texts.
-Breakdown of A2 forms and expectations
-Context assessment with differentiated Context slides on all three forms (Discovery Learning and Independent task).
-AS slide reminders for students reacquaint themselves with content from Year 12 Discovery Learning and Independent task).
-All audience theories needed for these two forms both AS and A2 covered.
-A breakdown of a 15 marker Audience ques on ‘Tide’
-Uses and Gratifications, Two-Step Flow and ABC1/C2DE breakdown each with a differentiated task to embed.

**H/W= This Power Point includes a three-part H/W as per my school’s policy for students to sit two hours piece of work or more that includes a FRAMEWORK FOR NEXT LESSON’. All resources/links are included. Moreover, this lesson includes a Mastery Sheet for WaterAid and Tide/ WaterAid for part of the lesson/ H/W.
