YEAR 9: Lesson 17= End of Unit Assessment and consolidation of knowledge learnt.

This is an end of unit assessment for Lessons 9-16. If taught in conjunction with these lessons, the entirety of this unit is 6-7 weeks in length. This phase of the Unit, is the practical group work stage which should last 2-3 weeks.

THE CHALLENGE:

Each group is given their own unique Charity Appeal or Public Awareness campaign so no group is doing the same thing. The Team Leader of the group (picked by you or students) will then lead their team (picked by you or their Team Leader) in creating a campaign for their topic that is fresh and unique. These socio/political issues range from Water Appeals to issues such as Domestic Abuse and Child Poverty.

1.Your group will now have two weeks to create a campaign based around the campaign or appeal you analysed last lesson (SEE LESSON 14-16 or find resource also attached to this resource if conducting as a 2-3 week practical only).

2.You will each be assigned a role that you are responsible for. You may help with one another’s roles but ultimately the buck stops with.

3.You will be given a budget that you are free to spend the entirety of.

4.You will then present your campaign to the class and me. I will grade these as your end of term assessment as well an award for the best one with a prize for the whole group.

5. BE WARNED! Whatever you spend money on, you must design and have ready to showcase in your talk.

This Power Point includes:
-An outline of what is expected from students.
-Job roles with breakdown of responsibilities for Team Leaders to designate
-A budget as well as a costing list of what the students can buy with their money in an effort to market their product. Whatever the students spend money on e.g. a radio advert, they must design A.K.A. write a Radio Script.
-A broken down slide of everything the groups must have for their presentation which will be performed in fronty of the class and given an End of H Term assessment grade.

Homework Task Included as this will be the groups project for the next 2-3 weeks as well as a resource sheet.

(Each lesson is laid out as I teach my own class but I have added notes at the bottom of some of the slides e.g. on the Media Teaser, to aide teachers. All lessons are developed with differentiation, assessment/challenge as well as engagement entrenched heavily within all my resources. Moreover, constant reference is made throughout to the selected Examiner Media.
