YEAR 9: Lesson 9-10= This Double lessons is part of a half term unit to get students familiar with various debates in the Media as well as the influence the Media plays on a daily and global scale. This unit culminates in a practical project (see bundle for combined resources for the unit) whereby students apply their newfound knowledge to their own campaigns. This lesson covers:

-All 5 contexts that are raised by the Examiner as underpinning all study in the new EDUQAS Spec; social, cultural, political, historical and economic with a brief study and application to that of 'Spectre' (one of the Examiner texts) as well as 4 key debates in society at preset; Brexit, Black Lives Matter, Immigration and Crime and punishment.
-Anchorage
-A debate as to how much the media impacts upon the construction of an individuals identity.

NOTE: I am following EDUQAS Teaching Model 1 in my teaching/ SOW. Moreover, each lesson has a task whereby students RAG (Red, Amber, Green) what they have learnt in the lesson against an Examiner checklist (Differentiation, peer assessment).

(Each lesson is laid out as I teach my own class but I have added notes at the bottom of some of the slides e.g. on the Media Teaser, to aide teachers. All lessons are developed with differentiation, assessment/challenge as well as engagement entrenched heavily within all my resources. Moreover, constant reference is made throughout to the selected Examiner Media.
