A lessson or two looking at why Elizabeth had to explore the world and the significance of Sir Francis Drake’s circumnavigation of the globe, particularly contributing the straining relations between England and Spain. This lesson also looks in detail at how exploration was possible.

An overview Revision sheet to print in A3 to summarise the main points for the years 1958-1962 Including the Berlin Refugee crisis, summits, Berlin wall and Cuban Revolution / Missile Crisis. Colour coded (blue = summit, yellow = Cuba related, pink = Berlin related, green = President action Lesson PPTS on here or at www.stchistory.com (PDF) can support completion (or your own teaching) I might also give them this at the start of the Refugee lesson and fill it in as we go through the next few topics, but I think probably work best as an independent revision task
