New AQA Physics (Energy unit) - Energy Resources

(0)
This lesson is part of the new AQA Physics energy unit. It focuses on allowing students to develop their knowledge on energy resources and sustainability. Students are asked to select appropriate renewable energy sources for an island taking into consideration social, economic and environmental factors. The task itself takes a fully independent approach and develops many key skills such as: Decision making, communication, team work, mathematical and analytical skills. Students must justify their decisions and work towards given deadlines. The work is differentiated by outcome and there is opportunity for students to peer-assess. I would advise that the lesson takes 1.5 hours to complete. Worksheets and powerpoint included. (Sorry for the large files but the images are HD!) Please review to improve!

Physics equation posters (AQA Triple, Synergy and Trilogy)

(0)
A complete set of posters covering all the equations students need to either remember or will be given for the 2018 AQA science exams. This is a complete set of equations which can be printed on A3/A4 and laminated for your classroom walls. I have colour coded the equations with a red or blue box. 'Red box equations' are for students to remember 'Blue box equations' are given in the formula sheet Each poster has the equation written as a standard symbol equation; a word equation (with units) and as a formula triangle (for foundation students). Please enjoy!

New AQA Physics - Atoms and radiation

(0)
The following lesson covers the link between atoms, the nucleus and radioactivity. Students will compare the general size of the atomic structures and begin to link this to the stability of the atom. Students will then look at the types of radiation emitted by the nucleus and then use their information to complete a set of application questions. A mini-white board quiz is advised as a plenary. The lesson is linked to the new AQA (9-1) curriculum and is the first lesson taught in the Atomic structure unit Includes: Power point and a plenary worksheet
