This is a PPT lesson guiding you through teaching Question 1 letter writing for CIE IGCSE English as a First Language. It uses The Hunger Games as a text, looking at the Interview scene. Included is one full PPT (this took me around 3 hours to teach fully), a mock CIE assessment Q1 based on The Hunger Games, a planning sheet and an example insert annotated for the three bullet points.

OCR English Literature (NEW SPEC) The Yellow Wallpaper

This scheme of work is aimed at KS3, building up the skills needed for OCR's English Literature New Spec GCSE. This presentation includes 5 whole lessons. These lessons look at The Yellow Wallpaper, focusing on language analysis skills (AO2) and building in historical context (AO3), specifically looking at feminism in the late 1800s. Full copies of the text are available for free online - which I printed off for pupils to use alongside this scheme.
