I love making resources which are differentiated, challenging and also engaging. All main tasks will be differentiated at least 3 ways and actual lessons will have solutions with them. An ideal resource which can recap using the four operations with fractions. It practices the skills, using it in functional problems and then introduces the more able pupils to more vague contexts which are ideal for the new curriculum. Ideal for revision, as a lesson, a game and engages the pupils to really challenge themselves. Full lesson to follow the ensure pupils are fully prepared for new curriculum.

In each PPT there are 6 individual starters (12 in total) in which the same 5 questions are repeated but just different values. These have been proven to ensure 5 topics are revisited at the beginning of lessons which are generally 2-3 marks each on an exam. Pupils like the repetition of the same questions each lesson and seeing progress from maybe being able to do 1 to doing all 5 at the end of the 6 lessons. Pupils really do see the benefit and a nice way to have a task ready on pupil entry to the classroom.

They focus on key skills in the new 9-1 Foundation GCSE to ensure that pupils can improve their raw score. It starts by having a task on finding the single multiplier and then continues with varying tasks on using the multiplier to calculate percentage increase and decrease. It brings in compound interest to challenge the more able pupils. All tasks are differentiated to at least 3 levels to challenge all pupils but ensure they are accessible to everyone, All tasks have solutions to make it easy to mark. There are reasoning questions, problem solving questions and killer questions to make this suitable for the 9-1 curriculum. I have used this lesson and pupils were engaged and challenged.

A series of lessons 2-4 on using 1/2abSin(C) to find the area of a triangle. The lesson allows pupils to practice the skill and then extend learning to combine it with sine and cosine rule to find area of triangles. There area also algebraic problems, bound problems and area of polygons using trigonometry. All tasks are differentiated to 3 or 4 levels to allow the skill to be practiced and then to stretch and challenge the more able. All tasks have either worked solutions or typed solutions so that the pupils can self mark. This has been used with top set year 11, all pupils engaged and made good progress.
