BEFORE EXAMS AQA GCSE Spanish writing workshop which emphasises on the 90 word question, building up on basic vocab and structures. It is thought to be done in pairs and the timings are very restricted to make candidates stay on their toes and think of the quickest best possible answers. 1 hour lesson advised. One hour lesson based on the topic of Family and relationships. Explicit practice on how to complete question 1 (¿Qué hay en la foto? ) and practice questions, one Foundation photo card and one Higher. Mark scheme and reflection time after the activities.

A board game to revise the Present Perfect in Spanish (or pretérito perfecto compuesto) and practise Speaking and Listening. It is best to print out the board game in a A3 piece of paper. Minimum of 2 players per game, they will need a token each to keep in the boxes. You will need 1 coin (I use a 2p coin normally, tails advances 1 and heads 2 forward). You will need to print out a small deck of the ‘Verdadero/falso’ cards in card paper. Instructions: Youngest person (Speaker) starts, goes forward one or two boxes and picks a card. If the card says ‘Verdadero’, they will modify the information in the box (in Spanish) to make it true for them. The other players must decide whether the person is telling the truth or lying. If the other players catch the person lying, he or she will go back one box. If they do not catch the Speaker in a lie, he or she stays in the box. This is a creative activity that I am planning to do with my French and Spanish classes across KS3 and KS4 as a whole school event. It should not take longer than 30 minutes during a regular lesson. Pupils choose some sentences from the slide in TL (following numbers 1-5), then copy them out with the appropriate connectives, with a friend in mind. Then they can decorate the cards. Teacher is to collect the cards and keep them until the morning of 14th of February, when pupils will receive cards during tutor time.

This worksheet is suitable for GCSE classes that need a reminder of future tense structures. Could be used for very keen year 9 classes, too. The worksheet contains: Student copy with 9 activities. This lesson is based in basic verbs that GCSE candidates should know from KS3 and how to use them best to add complexity to their work (modal verbs, third person) and make up for any gaps in understanding conjugations in the past (solía + infinitive), present (suelo + infinitive) and future tense (voy a + infinitve).
