Turn your students into independent learners with these well presented, informative information cards. Packed with information about the Transistors, Darlington Pairs, 555 Monostable and Astable, 4017b Decade counters, 4026 Decade counters, Logic Gates, the NAND gate as all other gates, Operational Amplifiers - Inverting, Non-inverting and as Comparators, and Microcontrollers. I designed these information cards to be used by students who are developing system diagrams. Students often feel overwhelmed when it comes to designing systems because they are unsure which input, process and output components to choose and they are unsure what they all do. These cards provide the answers so students can easily assess whether the component will meet their needs. Obviously the students will learn much more about the individual components along the way! Buy this resource on its own or as part of a bundle including a starter on systems diagrams, and activity where students design systems in order to meet specific design briefs and a set of Input component information cards. Output component cards will be online soon.

This free sample is to give a taste about what to expect from My Fossil Fuels lesson plan. This sample concentrates just on Nuclear energy. The full lesson also includes Oil, Coal and Natural Gas. The Full lesson also includes a starter that gives students the opportunity to get involved by discussing which energy forms they are aware of and then splitting them into renewable and non-renewable energy forms. The file is on PowerPoint so you can make adjustments if required. There are interactive, animated slides to add a little more interest for students. I you like this free resource please leave a positive review and maybe download the full lesson, it's reasonably priced at just £3. Thank You

This resource is a free sample of my much bigger file that is for sale on this site. I have used this resource regularly over recent years and students designing their own PCB have found it invaluable, This small snippet shows how to add a Piezo to your Genie Microcontroller circuit. It also shows you how to create the PCB and programming flow chart. If you like this free resource then why not take a look at some of my others. Thanks for looking.
GCSE Electronic Products E-Portfolio Template

GCSE Electronic Products E-Portfolio Template

(0)
Template for GCSE students. GCSE students struggle to ensure that they have included everything that they need to gain maximum marks in their controlled assessment. This E-Portfolio template can be used in one of two ways, either each individual student can edit their own copy with their own project details, alternatively this can be used as a reminder of what is needed on the page to be displayed to all students via the white board. Aimed at encouraging thorough analysis and evaluation throughout the project and to encourage independent learning this portfolio has proved to be highly effective.

Design Technology Electronic System Diagrams Design Component Information Cards and Activities

7 Resources
This resource is aimed at helping students to understand how to develop systems diagrams and which components will best suit the needs of the design brief. The starter activity introduces the concept of systems diagrams and asks students to correctly identify Input, Process and Output components. The students are then given the information cards and asked to select suitable components to meet the design briefs. I created this resource having taught electronic products for years and finding that I needed a way to make the principles behind the development of systems ideas more intuitive. In addition to

Design Technology Electronics Microcontroller How 2 Create Circuit Diagrams, PCB layouts & Flowchart

(0)
Genie Microcontrollers offer students a fantastic array of inventive opportunities to develop a broad range of projects. Students are able to use their imagination and solve real life problems with these low cost PIC's, however managing a classroom full of students who all want to develop different circuits can be a challenge. I developed the Genie how 2 book in order to give students the opportunity to independently create their own circuits with minimal teacher support. The students start by creating a basic Genie E18 circuit (I have found this to be the most versatile and best value for money). The student then use the guide to show them how to add whichever input and output components that they choose. Students can follow the guide to create a PCB layout and to create a flow chart to program their microcontroller. I have found this to be a very effective tool within my classroom and it encourages differentiation and independent learning. I hope you find the guide as useful as my students do.

Balloon Race Car 2D Design parts and instructions for students Year 6 - 7 transition

This resource was created for year 6 summer school students. The file includes a 2D design file to cut the parts needed to make a balloon racer. I found that corrugated card worked better as it is light weight, although drying times are longer. I gave students the choice of using either card or plywood, or a combination of both. Great, fun activity for students. Principles of a design brief and specifications have also been included, along with some extension tasks to be completed while the glue dries.

The 555 timer has been the staple of Electronics projects in school and for the hobbyist for many years. Normally used in either Astable or Monostable, this 8 PIN little IC can be used in a wide range of projects. Most Electronic Products exams have had at least one question relating to the 555 timer over the years. As the Design Technology syllabus broadens to include aspects of a Design Technology specialist areas this resource explains the calculations used to calculate the frequency of the astable circuit and the time delay of the monostable circuit, as well as the Mark : Space ration calculations. Questions are included to test students knowledge.
