Sims Metal Management is the world’s largest metals and electronics recycler, we have more than 270 locations on five continents, and more than 6,600 employees. In 2012 Sims was ranked 11th in the Global 100 Most Sustainable Corporations, at the World Economic Forum. This is an accolade of which we are very proud, but to be truly sustainable we have to look to the future and help educate the next generation to live sustainably. As part of this commitment to a sustainable future we have created Saving Steps a resource for primary schools that encourages children to: • Develop an understanding of the origins of metals, plastics, electricity, natural gas, water and paper • Be aware of concerns for the future such as the depletion of non-renewable resources • Know how everyone can make a difference through reducing, reusing, recycling and recovering many of the resources we all use every day • And hopefully be ambassadors for sustainability amongst their families and friends.
