This resource has been updated with good links (January 2020) and is a great resource to use in a Personal Finance or Financial Literacy course. The purpose of the web quest is to get students to understand the importance of budgeting and how to manage debt and borrow money responsibly. Four websites are used in this web quest. They are: Debt Test - Students answer questions to test their knowledge about debt. Money Quiz - Students complete a quiz about personal finance. Financial Services - Students complete questions about financial services. Video - Students watch a brief video about Warren Buffet and borrowing money The webquest guides students through a variety of websites about loans, borrowing money, and debt. This would be a good resource to use for an independent student activity. This resource includes a Microsoft Word version and a PDF version of the webquest. This product is an assessment over a unit covering the Industrial Revolution all the way up to the era of Mass Production in the United States. The test covers a large time frame beginning in Great Britain with the start of the Industrial Revolution before progressing to the United States and the use of steam engines, railroads, and the growth of cities. Topics covered include: Agricultural Revolution, early textile mills, mass production, the importance of railways, cotton gin, assembly line, and the ingenuity of Henry Ford. The test includes 3 different sections with different types of questions: Multiple Choice - 25 questions Matching - 5 questions including the terms: Cotton Gin, Assembly Line, Transition, Mass Production, Bourgeoisie Extended Response Questions - 3 questions. Topics include: the connection from the industrial revolution to today, inventions and innovations of the industrial revolution, the assembly line. This Industrial Revolution Resource tasks students with making connection from the past to aspects of today’s society. It requires them to think critically and research how past concepts are still prevalent today. This Industrial Revolution was a time of change and prosperity and like any historical event, many connections to the present day can be found in the history of that time period. For this activity, students are tasked with finding present day current events that relate to concepts from the Industrial Revolution. These concepts and ideas include: Innovations and Inventions Women’s Rights and Women in Power Workplace Safety Regulations Consumer Economics Industrial Growth and Manufacturing The Middle Class This worksheet is set up as a graphic organizer. Students will find a current event based on the concepts listed and describe and then create a visual for the event/concept. This activity can be completed on the computer or printed for student use. This foldable hands on project is a great, quick project to complete with students studying the causes of World War I. The study cube has students create a foldable cube that lists and explains the M.A.I.N. Causes of World War I. The causes include: M - Militarism A - Alliances I - Imperialism N - Nationalism This resource includes two versions of the cube that teachers can choose to use. The first version is a blank version in which students must find and input their own information for each of the causes (militarism, alliances, imperialism, nationalism) and then create or find a visual that could be used for World War I. The second version of the cube that is included has all of the sides of the cube completed and ready for students to use as a study tool. This version can also be used as an answer key. The cube is designed to be printed and then cut out. Students the fold the output on the lines of the cube and glue/tape the flaps. The cube works with regular printer paper and looks great when used with card stock. This product includes a Microsoft Word and PDF version of the resource. American Civil War Choice Activity

This activity is a great resource to use for distance learning and in the classroom. It provides students with three opportunities to demonstrate their knowledge of the American Civil War. This differentiated product is designed to reach students of different abilities and strengths and can be used as a classroom project or assessment. The task asked of students are challenging and require students to use the knowledge they have gained about the American Civil War. The activities that students may choose to complete are: Activity 1: This activity is a visual activity in which students watch two short (10 minutes) video clips about the Civil War. These video clips are available on YouTube and the links are provided. After watching the two clips, students will create a PowerPoint/Google Slides Presentation about the Civil War. Criteria for the presentation is included as well. Activity 2: This activity is writing based. Students are presented with Civil War topics and then they must write a 5 paragraph essay about one of the topics. Students must use at least two sources. Activity 3: The final activity used primary sources and a link to a great variety of primary sources is provided. In this activity, students are given a variety of options to use the information in the primary sources to create their own product. Some of these options include newspaper front page, journal, letter, propaganda, or political cartoon. This product includes a Microsoft Word and PDF version of the resource.
