End of year activity for year 10.
The maths consists of 4 rounds. There are 5 questions in each of the rounds, the rounds are number, algebra, shape and other.
The maths is challenging for lower ability but higher ability should be able to access most of it. A calculator can be allowed at your discretion
There is also a picture round, a general knowledge round and a catchphrase round. All answer are given either in the powerpoint or with the worksheets. If you want to change a round for a music round that works well. I have left the music (optional) for you to pick your own. In the general knowledge round there are 2 questions aimed at my current pupils (in Kazakhstan but they are easily changeable)
Hope you enjoy it please leave feedback

tweeked version of the resource first put up by Holyhead. Changed the definitions to make it more suitable to my pupils . An activity for that short but vital task of sorting out the difference between these 4 types of algebraic notation. Firstly a MATCH-UP activity (the preview does not indicate the matches!) of the definitions for each of the 4, then a sorting and grouping activity with examples of each. Lastly, something to do with each type - substituting, solving, identifying and proving. Answers provided
Also plenary/starter activity for AFL ppt on identifying correctly
