These 2 PPT presentations will aid literacy lessons in KS1 alongside a “Gruffalo’s child” unit of work. PPT 1 is the story and it focuses on adjectives, so as you progress through, they will be highlighted. A good opportunity for discussion and guessing which words they are. Ideal for descriptive work. PPT 2 focuses on the character of Gruffalo’s child and is a good introduction to character descriptions, including what they look like and their likes and dislikes.

Unit of work to aid the teaching of “The First Flight”- focusing on the Wright Brothers and how they invented the first powered airplane in 1903. It also covers how they influenced the development of aircraft until present day.

This Power Point explores the topic of Op Art and is intended for upper KS2. It includes work by Bridget Riley and M C Escher. The slides show examples of optical illusions and how artists use lines and colour blocking to create the illusion of movement. Children will be able to get inspiration from the examples to create their own piece.

This PPT presentation is a very simplified way of introducing Greater than > Less than < to very young children. It is suitable for EYFS and KS1 children. It introduces <> by using Charlie the Crocodile, who likes to eat the bigger numbers.

These questions are typical of what would be asked in a main scale teacher interview. There are also hints included as to what the panel would expect you to say as a response. VERY USEFUL!!

This is a 2 week cycle of reading for year 2, complete with PPT planning, lesson by lesson slides with accompanying comprehension questions and resources day by day. The unit starts with text annotation. The story is analysed page by page with vocabulary defined for each page. Children can answer questions on the slides together and then in their books. There is partner practice and opportunities to write summaries and a brief diary entry. This is very prescriptive and detailed and will be a life saver for those covering this story.

These 2 PowerPoints are intended for Year 1/2 History topic on Homes. PPT 1 is about different types of homes with labels. PPT 2 shows “spot the difference” between old and new homes and artefacts. It makes comparisons between, eg, old toilet/new toilet etc. It has an animated front cover which you can activate by clicking the play button on the image before putting it onto slide show mode.
