How to Use: Matching Game 1: Lay all the cards face down. Players take turns flipping two cards at a time, trying to find matching pairs of Irish words/phrases and their English meanings. When a player makes a match, they get another turn. The player with the most matches at the end wins. Matching Game 2: Put students in teams of 4. Give a pack of cards to each group. Teams then race to see who can match all the cards the quickest. Flash Cards: Use the cards for individual or group practice. Show an Irish word/phrase and have the child or group provide the English translation. For added challenge, reverse the process and show the English meaning, asking for the corresponding Irish word/phrase. Gaeilge Display Board: Create an interactive display in your classroom or at home. Attach the Irish word/phrase cards to a board, wall, or poster, leaving space for the English meanings.
