Aimed at high ability GCSE students as it does have some challenging vocabulary and exercises but could easily be adapted. Exercises are explained in the notes box at the bottom.

It starts with an easy present tense sentence and finishes with a sentence which includes an indirect object pronoun. This resource can be used at the start of a lesson, to test how much students know on a particular subject or can be given as homework for students to work independently. I created this ppt to get my students to practise vocabulary on the topic of holiday. I used it with a Year 11 group, but it can be used with a high ability Year 10 as well.

A straightforward worksheet to examine different themes in Bodas de sangre. It includes quotes and examples of critical analysis.

It uses current famous people from Spain to talk about jobs and what it is important. Explains -dad suffix in nouns.

Elf on the shelf and new future. Designed for KS3 students as it is very simple. They’ll get to use ‘voy a’ and ‘vamos a’.

AS vocabulary and activities to discuss impact of tourism in Spain. Part of the lesson has a resource I found on TES (link provided on the slide).

This resource explores the reasons behind Spain’s Civil War. There’s information on the Second Republic (reforms), violence after the elections in 1936 and Mola’s Golpe de Estado. Listening, reading and translation skills and some questions for students to reflect on and give their opinion in speaking. It can be used with students in Years 9, 10 or 11, depending on their level. If used with Year 11 students, Foundation classes would benefit more as it may be too easy for Higher groups (although good revision for them). There are six questions and it focuses on the use of adjectives when giving opinions or describing.

Conditional tense practice with the topic of ‘mi ciudad’. Students practise this tense and write what they would improve in their town. Could be used as homework.
