Assembly script about the history of the Olympics and a brief history of Eric Liddell's story. The script is appropriate for year 1 to 6.

Assembly script all about the 3 little pigs...with a twist ending. Great literacy link as the script is written using rhyming couplets. I taught Roald Dahl's animal poems alongside traditonal tales before this assembly. Wonderful unit!

Colour coded assessment work sheet. Appropriate for all of primary school, but particularly nice to introduce self/peer assessment to KS1. I did this half termly in KS1 and stuck into into their books and after random lessons with ks2.

A series of tables with learning intentions for core subjects with a thumb scale. Children colour in or circle the thumb which relfects how they think they did on the subject. Includes blanks tables for you to add lesson specific targets, great for lesson observations. With y2 and up I have used these as my success criteria,giving the children a blank table and they hand write the criteria from the board. At the end of the lesson the quickly self assess it.

A presentation I created about early years practice,focusing on dialogue and including an observational study. Great to help you understand early years pedagogy, key terms and inform your own research.

Three levels of worksheets to identify and create your own sentence types. Each page includes the definition of each sentence type which is great for beginners or revision, but this could be edited to become a cloze procedure. I’ve used this to introduce the topic in class and then to send home for parents in HW. Many of my parents said they found the definitions really helpful and put them up at home as they hadn’t been taught how to identify them before.

Fun board game for learning new vocabulary and recognising words which have a silent ‘h’. Lesson plan included to give you ideas and explain how to play. I would recomend printing the game on a3 and laminating, this got me my first ‘outstanding’ in lesson and kids really love learning the new words! Enjoy!

Simple board game consisting of ks1 tricky words. I’ve used this in so many different ways; you can divide kids up into colours and in turns ask them read all of the words in that colour. you can play as a normal board game with dice you can play with HA children not just reading the word but putting it into a sentence you can make it a guided reading or literacy lesson by asking the children to write a sentence using the word they land on I have even used this as an assessment lesson in year 2 when I first got to know my class, it allowed me to find out where they were but also have fun with them. Simple and fun games divided by the sounds in each phase. I gave these to my TA’s to use in small groups. We began by simply saying the sounds, laterwe added in saying a word with the sound, the writing the sound/word and eventually with HA children would work in pairs to draw a picture of a word with the sound and their partner would segment the word. I even used them as ‘fun’ assessment at the beginning of a term. Enjoy!

This resource includes the script and 2 powerpoints for an assembly. Was originally for a year 5 class but can be adapted for any ks2 class. The first powerpoint includes opportunities to add photos of your own class and some cross curricular lessons, such as mummifying apples in Science and Egyptian movement in PE. The second powerpoint is a an ‘Egyptian’ version of Who Wants to be a millionaire. My school LOVED this assembly. Enjoy :)

A wonderful assembly all about the ancient Egyptians. It includes one song and links to it on youtube, one quiz done in the style of who wants to be a millionaire (all about the Egyptians) and one example power point to put in the background, including lots of ideas for ancient Egypts based lessons; mummifying apples in science, dance and movement and an example of a class display. A cool little boardgame which can be used as an introduction to the topic, assessment at the end of topic in KS1 or as a knowledge harvest in KS2. Children pick up a card with an animal or plant on it and they move around the board choosing which habitat or micro habit that animal lives in. The game ends when all the cards are gone. The game targets these KS1 science objectives in the English Curriculum: a)identify that most living things live in habitats to which they are suited and describe how different habitats provide for the basic needs of different kinds of animals and plants, and how they depend on each other. b) identify and name a variety of plants and animals in their habitats, including micro-habitats.

Adaptable assembly script of the Biblical character Esther. This script retells the story and involves a lot of acting out scenes of the story with a narrator. There are 30 parts with a range of abilities and an optional dance link and prayer at the end. I actually used this resources during anti bullying week to highlight how my pupils should stand up for one another even when it’s really difficult to do so, but a friend used it simply for an RE assembly. Esther is a great book to focus on for similarities between Judaism and Christianity as both religions have it in their Holy book. Appropriate for end of year 2 - year 6. Enjoy :)
