EYFS Parts of a Flower board game A simple game for 2-6 players to help pupils learn and say the names of three parts of a flower (petal, stem and leaf). Six different coloured game boards and instructions for two games included. Useful for small group activity with an adult to ensure pupils repeat and practise the key vocabulary. Can be used with a range of topics including ‘Growing’, ‘Outdoors’, ‘Summer’ etc.

KS1 & 2 Set of 32 Quiz questions about Medieval Castles. 32 differentiated questions (and answers!) to challenge and develop pupil knowledge about Medieval castles. Each question card is differentiated with a star symbol (1 star = easy, 2 stars = harder, 3 stars= difficult) so pupils can answer at their knowledge level. Useful as a lesson starter or plenary of for a small group activity.

A 13 page blank booklet including cover page, contents, glossary and author page. Each page is divided into different layouts with space for illustrations, photos and recording. The glossary activities are organised into a short workbook. Learning objectives: To know that a glossary is an alphabetical list of words with definitions found in a non-fiction book. To recognise the difference between a word and a definition . To put words in alphabetical order. To match words about castles to the correct definitions. Page 1 Offers pupils a selection of vocabulary relating to Norman castles and asks them to select four words to order alphabetically and set out as a glossary. Page 2 Questions about the key vocabulary and glossary. At the end of the booklet there is a set of 12 ‘castle’ glossary cards with a description for the pupils to cut out and order into alphabetical order.

KS1 & 2 Set of 5 Easter instructions. Learning Objectives: To read and follow the instructions accurately and in the correct sequence/order. To recognise the features of instructions (What materials are needed, method, using an imperative (bossy) verb, sequencing actions and numbering each stage in order, using diagrams and pictures). Five DT activities for pupils to read, understand and make. The activities include : Paste egg bunny, Easter basket, spring daffodil, Easter nests, pompom chick. Use as an introduction to work on instructions to encourage pupils to observe the features in a fun way or as a format to help pupils scaffold their own instructional writing.

Florence Nightingale's Facebook page can be used as a reference for information gathering for work on biographies, non fiction writing, comprehension, discussion work and as a template for writing a Facebook page about a non fiction famous character or person. Can be used with KS1 and KS2.

Ks1 & 2 shark ID mat. Photos of 16 sharks for pupils to use as part of a research activity or game. Research on laptops and ipads common features of sharks using the mat as a stimulus. Put a shark image on the whiteboard and ask the children to identify the shark and its features as part of a game. Play ' shark bingo'. Print and laminate 2 pairs of images of each shark and play 'shark snap' or ' shark pairs' in a small group.

A simple scaffold to aid pupil writing. A scaffold of a poem which can be adapted by theme to support cross curricular writing or to develop a specific aspect of English such as alliteration, similes. Can be modified to provide challenge or support with the aid of dictionaries, Thesaurus and word banks. Very useful as a starter or plenary session.

Use for a range of learning activities including writing speech bubbles, features of a comic strip, storyboarding and writing an ending to a known story or rhyme. KS1&2 Disciples Bingo game and instructions for play. The game has different boards for 8 players. Easy game for pupils to play independently whilst learning the names of the 12 disciples.

KS1 Dark House writing frames. Set of three writing frames (eight boxes each) with simple writing stem using basic core vocabulary. HA has stem in first box only to enable pupils to use own core vocabulary and spell known words. MA and LA have differentiated simple stems in all eight boxes. There is a simple dark house noun vocabulary mat included which pupils can use to complete their sentences. This resource works well with the story stimulus ‘A dark, dark wood…’ and is a good way of helping children develop their own reading and writing skills through making their own books.
