Two activities that encourage historical and independent thinking about slave resistance - one for pupils to think from a slave perspective - the second to encourage the use of questions. The activity based on developing pupil questioning could also be used as a way to begin looking at sources and to demonstrate how a historian uses questions to help form conclusions. Further activities could include looking at a variety of differentiated sources on slave life on the plantations. Use within the KS3 study of the Atlantic slave trade as a method to start looking at slave resistance and rebellion in more depth.
