A recently judged ‘Outstanding’ lesson on Angular rotational momentum. The lessons use the context of ballet/swan lake and the physics behind the ‘fouette’ performed by the Black Swan during the performance.
The lesson also looks at moments of inertia, comparisons between angular and linear momentum and calculations involving angular rotational momentum.
Uncertainity and percentage error calculations are new to the AQA specification in Biology and something which will be assessed a lot more moving forward. These questions can be used for any exam board on the whole and explore what uncertainity is and means, the concept of resolution and plenty of exam questions for students to try.
Here is a full 91 mark exam paper including the mark scheme with questions created by me. The test is designed to be challenging and in the light of the recent papers and how tricky some of the questions have been this will be good preparation!
Designed for AQA but applicable to other exam boards.

Lots of self made organic synthesis questions for A Level Chemistry. Designed for OCR but can be adapted for any exam board. The questions vary in degree of challenge, from simpler recall to more complex application of organic principles.
Mark schemes / answers included for all questions.
This 70 page booklet contains exam questions and explanations of calculations required as part of the AQA A Level Biology specification. This is easily adaptable for any exam board.
The following areas are covered:
Units, stats tests and and standard deviations, standard form, percentages, uncertainity, use of calculators to find and use power, exponential and logarithmic functions, order of magnitude calculations, y=mx+c, determination of the intercept of a graph, tangents and rate and finally geometry (area, volume etc).
Also included are the answers and the booklets are in pdf and word form for easy editing. The booklet can be used in many ways; it could be given to students to complete as a whole (with answers published on the VLE system/printed for students), or a page could be given a day as the starter of each lesson, or a page for homework, or teachers can simply select pages needed from the massive, massive list to use for explanations and so on forth.
Heavy focus on A02/A03 (application and data analysis/maths/stats) in the questions on the paper, many of which have been self-made.

This is a challenging, application-heavy “mini mock” paper is aimed for AS Biology students for use towards the end of the year to test their knowledge and ability to handle tricky questions.
The paper is also useful for A Level Biology Students to use as revision for the AQA Paper 1 (which will be all AS material). This is designed for the AQA specification but is probably also relevant for other A Level Biology exam boards.
A suggested mark scheme is also included.
This folder comes with 10 lessons for each of the parts of the stimulus and response topic, including relevant exam practise and also required practical 10 alongside practical skills to do with IAA - from responses and reflexes to receptors and finally control of the heart rate.

• stimulation of a receptor leads to the establishment of a generator potential.
• The basic structure of a Pacinian corpuscle.
• Deformation of stretch-mediated sodium ion channels in a Pacinian corpuscle leads to the establishment of a generator potential.
• The human retina in sufficient detail to show how differences in sensitivity to light, sensitivity to colour and visual acuity are explained by differences in the optical pigments of rods and cones and the connections rods and cones make in the optic nerve.
• Myogenic stimulation of the heart and transmission of a subsequent wave of electrical activity.

Student often struggle with Kw in terms of the specific wordy questions and some of the maths questions. Included are a range of questions that asses these aspects with mark schemes.
A challenging 15 marker passage/prose/comprehension style question created by me designed for AQA A Level Biology (but can easily be used for other exam boards).
The passage is written by me and looks at proteins, prions and neurodegenerative diseases as a challenging application question for students.
