This lesson meets the EDUQAS GCSE specification but would be suitable for all new specs. A lesson on how families have changed over time. I have used this as an observed introduction to the topic, would be ideal for mid to lower ability. Includes stretch and challenge, key words and differentiated worksheets. This lesson includes: keyword starter, think/pair/share, numeracy task: bar chart, true/false plenary. This lesson meets the new specification Students have to pick their own tasks, but they must choose one from each column, each column is more difficult than the other. This lesson is best done over two lessons but can be adapted for the classes needs and ability. (15 marks) An assessment with WWW and EBI feedback, complete with a revision lesson which will help students to structure and write their answer. The lesson includes: keywords, a carousel activity(optional could be done as a class or peer teach), student discussion, a multiple choice homework task and teacher student feedback. A worksheet is provided for students to record informational and could be used in the assessment if wanted. This worked well with both lower and higher ability students.
