I created the curriculum to be more engaging for sixth form to study general RE. Year 12 follow a model of the NOCN but the aim to get students to be more proactive in the wider school community. It is important for sixth form to play a role wit then spiritual aspect of the school community. Therefore, we start the course with faith in action and our community which explores the Catholic social teachings. Students are expected to engage and reflect on key concepts; they are then given a project throughout each unit to create and showcase their understanding. This will either be displayed around the school community or referenced via the school website/ chaplaincy bulletin. The topics explored in the year are; Faith in Action & Our Community, what makes us human, crash course on world religions, the problem of evil and relationships.

Year 13 also follow an adaptation of the NOCN model; they do not partake in as much projects as year 12, they are given the opportunity to explore who they are, where they are on their faith journey so far. We begin with the unit of service be we want students to explain and assess how religious commitment is demonstrated in everyday life. They will show a link to service within school life and their own personal experience. The topics explored in the year are; service for others, personal and social issues, experiments in spirituality and prayer, questions of life and death.
