About Applefields School
Applefields School is a popular and highly regarded special school for secondary age students (11-19 years) with moderate, severe and profound and multiple learning difficulties and a significant number of students with additional needs on the autistic spectrum. We support students from York and the surrounding areas of North Yorkshire and the East Riding of Yorkshire. At the beginning of the current school year (2024/25) there are 220 pupils on roll, it is projected that numbers will rise in September 2025.
Students are at the centre of everything that we do. We believe that by working together, providing a personalised education and promoting students’ communication and independence skills we will prepare each young person for adult life. Our goal is to help everyone achieve the best that they can by respecting the dignity of all.
