About Ashlyns School
Ashlyns School is a co-educational foundation school based in Hertfordshire for students aged 11-18. It is a non-denominational school.
Values and vision
Ashlyns School recognises that each student is an individual with different and diverse interests and abilities. It offers what it considers to be a strong core curriculum so students can study a comprehensive range of subjects at Key Stage 3, providing a foundation for their success at Key Stage 4 and in the school’s sixth form.
The school also places high importance on regular monitoring and assessment of its students’ progress to help them achieve aspirational targets. It also aims to strengthen this through the importance it places on the three-way partnership between the school itself, students, and home.
Ashlyns School intends for learning at the school to occur in an atmosphere of mutual respect and support. Through its heads of year, learning mentors, form tutors and its Inclusion Team, it is hoped that each child will be guided and supported throughout their time at the school.
“Students who are disabled and those who have special educational needs are supported well and make good progress. Students supported by the pupil premium achieve well and the gaps in attainment between them and other students are closing. Teachers form excellent relationships with students, which contribute highly to their positive attitudes to learning and good achievement. Students are well behaved and collaborate well. They are very respectful and tolerant of other cultures and religions that exist in modern day Britain.”
