Values and vision
Haydon School’s vision is to encourage student's success and help them recognise their capabilities in a caring and stimulating learning environment. The secondary school promotes equality and works to offer individuals opportunities to help them get the best out of their learning experience. Haydon School wishes to develop the student's sense of self-awareness, self-reliance and ability to work independently, and strives to provide an enriching and balanced curriculum. The school nurtures children so that they are fully prepared for the challenges of an ever-changing society, and works to develop their global understanding. Pupils are encouraged to get involved in extra-curricular activities to further their opportunities and expand their skills outside the classroom, which range from sports and art clubs. Incentives to develop leadership skills include The Duke of Edinburgh Award and Student Voice.
“The curriculum is outstanding in the school and the sixth form. One of the strengths of the school is the way staff have developed a wide-ranging, balanced, innovative and flexible curriculum to meet the needs of all its students and give them good choice at GCSE and A level.”
