About Malvern College Chengdu
Malvern College Chengdu, closely affiliated with the prestigious Malvern College, opened in September 2015 providing high-quality personalised, holistic and international education to Chinese nationals aged 11 -18. Following the success of Malvern College Qingdao, of which the enrolment has rapidly grown to 400 students from a humble start in 2012, Malvern College Chengdu is the second international school of Malvern College. In the phase 1 development, the College is expected to reach 600 students in 5 years.
Founded in 1865, Malvern College is a leading independent school in the UK, renowned as an innovator in education with academic excellence and rigour producing famous alumni including two Prime Ministers and three Nobel Prize winners.

Inheriting the ethos of Malvern College in the UK, whilst adapting to the needs of students in China, Malvern College Chengdu provides an innovative educational approach suitable for developing leaders for the 21st century. With this mission, the curriculum of Malvern College Chengdu is be based on the fundamental principal of its educational approach that students not only have to be very strong academically but they also have to be well-rounded individuals with strong critical thinking, communication, leadership and teamwork with a good understanding of other cultures.
To help our Chinese students transition effectively to leading universities around the world, a tailored curriculum (iGCSEs and A Levels) has been designed for the College, accompanied by a cutting-edge co-curriculum, comprehensive pastoral care, and a full boarding experience replicated from Malvern College in the UK.
Malvern College Chengdu is located right next to the botanic gardens in Chengdu, enjoying natural surroundings and fresh air. It is approximately 40 minutes drive from the city centre and 10 minutes away from the Sichuan Panda Sanctuaries.
Chengdu is a key economic hub in South West China with a population of 14 million. It is rated as one of the most liveable cities in China (with 14,000 ex-pats working here for a variety of companies such as Intel, Cisco, Sony, Toyota, Motorola, Ericsson & Microsoft). Its prosperity, high standard of living, and quality of life have given the city a reputation of being a place easy to move to, but hard to leave. It is a popular tourist destination, famous as a home to pandas, Emei Mountain and the Leshan Giant Buddha.
